Herd Football So Close To Bowl Eligiblity

As the Herd prepares for this upcoming game against WVU, it becomes more and more evident that bowl eligibility is within grasp. With a record of 4-2 with five games to go in the regular season, all the Herd really needs to do is win two more games, but winning three or even four of the final five games will definitely solidify the Herd's first bowl eligible season since Mark Snyder arrived on campus. Now don't go around thinking that the final five games are a cakewalk. If anything, they are the exact opposite. West Virginia poses a multi-threat offense and a speedy defense. The rest of the conference opponents are chumps either. UAB comes into town looking to get a bowl bid of their own. One game that the Herd should definitely not sleep on is the matchup against the UCF Golden Knights in Orlando. Coach O'Leary has had his act together for a long time down there and they know how to win football games. Following that tough eastern division showdown comes two must-win games at, "The Joan," against Southern Mississippi and Southern Methodist. Finally, the season finale is a long road game against the UTEP Miners. Remember, this is the same UTEP team that put a screeching halt to the Houston Cougars' undefeated hopes, even though Houston QB Case Keenum went 51-76 for 536 yards passing and 5 touchdowns.

Look for Marshall to EARN their bowl bid this season as they play out the final five games.
